  • Rubber spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Microwave or double boiler
  • Knife for cutting the candy

Ingredients

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • ½ cup crushed candy canes
  • ¼ cup red and green Christmas sprinkles
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt this is optional

Instructions

Prepare the baking sheet

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, making sure the paper covers the entire surface. Set it aside.

Melt the semi-sweet chocolate

  • Place the semi-sweet chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until the chocolate is completely smooth.

Spread the chocolate

  • Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a rubber spatula to spread it into an even layer.

Melt the white chocolate

  • Place the white chocolate chips in another microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Add the peppermint extract and mix well.

Add the white chocolate layer

  • Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the semi-sweet chocolate. Use a toothpick or knife to create beautiful swirls.

Add the toppings

  • Sprinkle the crushed candy canes, Christmas sprinkles, and a little sea salt over the chocolate while it is still soft. Gently press the toppings into the surface.

Chill the candy

  • Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 1 hour, or until the chocolate is completely firm.

Break and serve

  • Remove the hardened chocolate from the parchment paper. Break it into bite-sized pieces using your hands or cut it with a sharp knife. Serve and enjoy.

Storage Instructions

You can store your Christmas candy in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. You have to separate layers with parchment paper to prevent the pieces from sticking together.
You can also freeze the candy in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. If frozen, you must allow it to thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
